Hiking Routes
Villa Margarita, 650 metres above sea level, is surrounded by mountains and natural aromas, creating an ideal sanctuary for relaxation.
Its strategic location makes it perfect for hiking and discovering the nearby volcanic routes and the native Canarian flora that it shares with the territories of Macaronesia.
The Tourist Office of Valsequillo offers information on routes and occasionally organises small guided hiking groups upon request.
Privileged Astronomical SITE
Our perspective of the cosmos changes due to the movement of the Earth around the Sun and each season shows a different sky with characteristic stars and constellations. The special geographical location of Gran Canaria and especially the Mirador de La Caldera de los Marteles, allows us to observe all the stars of the Northern Hemisphere and almost 80% of the celestial Southern Hemisphere throughout the year.
The winter sky is dominated by the bright star Sirius, the spectacular constellation of Orion and the open cluster of the Pleiades or the Seven Sisters in Taurus. In the summer, the central area of the Milky Way rises many degrees above the southern horizon and the famous summer triangle formed by the stars Vega, Deneb and Altair dominates the upper part of the celestial vault.
Spring offers us less brilliant, but equally spectacular, constellations such as Leo, Gemini, Bootes with the brilliant Arcturus and the southern sky dominated by Virgo, Corvus and Centaurus, which houses the largest visible star cluster, W Centauri. Very close to it is the elusive Southern Cross, unobservable from the European continent, which can be seen in full from the island near the southern horizon between the months of January and June at different times. Autumn is the season of the Andromeda galaxy, located very high, close to the square of Pegasus and the characteristic "W" shape of Cassiopeia next to Perseus.
The La Caldera de los Marteles viewpoint is located in the municipality of Valsequillo with the following geographic coordinates:
- Latitude: 27.9608556 N, Longitude: 15.53540277 W
- Altitude: 1,528 meters.
Located in the eastern part of the island, this is a spectacular viewing point in the Protected Natural Area of Los Marteles, one of the last active volcanic sites on the island. The base of the viewing point offers an impressive view of the Caldera de los Marteles crater, which has been used for years as an agricultural farm.
The Milky Way, with its hundreds of billions of stars, is almost unfathomable to the human mind. We are left with the consolation of enjoying the beauty of this spiral galaxy that rises in an arc in the celestial vault to show us a brushstroke of the sky especially visible from February to October and that occupies half of the night sky in summer. Gran Canaria offers exceptional viewpoints facing southeast to contemplate a spectacle with free admission and visible for several hours.

This golf course has one of the best sports and leisure facilities in Gran Canaria and Spain, as it has an excellent 18-hole golf course (Par 72), as well as a practice range, putting green, school, a Club House with restaurant and specialist shop.
The golf course has 18 holes, Par 72 and a length of 6,308 metres, making it one of the longest courses in Spain. Its design, with up to six tees per hole, allows players of all levels to enjoy the course.
